Chet grew up in Hendersonville, TN, a suburb of Nashville. His interest in music began at a very early age. His dad bought him an electric guitar with a built-in amp from a local Catalog Showroom store when he was 9 years old, and he taught himself to play it.

During his teen years he formed a band with some friends, and began writing and performing his own music.  After graduating from high school, he enrolled in Middle Tennessee State University and began his studies in their nationally ranked School of Music. He continued performing with bands at local venues in and around Nashville, and even took some time away from his studies to tour as an opening band for some established artists around the country.

In 2004, he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Production from MTSU, and began an internship as a recording engineer at a local studio in Hendersonville, TN. Later as chief engineer and producer, he recorded hundreds of songs for songwriters and young aspiring artists.

In 2009, he began touring with 3 Doors Down as a guitar technician. Then in early 2012, he was asked to join the band as their lead guitarist and backing vocalist.

In addition to guitar, Chet is also an accomplished keyboardist.

During his career as a performer, Chet has shared the stage with some of the biggest names in the business that include Kid Rock, Luke Bryan, ZZ Top, Chris Stapleton, Charlie Daniels, Chris Daughtry, Travis Tritt and many others.

Along with playing guitar and piano on these sessions, he is credited with co-writing and editing the 3 Doors Down studio album, “Us and The Night”, and engineering and co-producing the recent 3 Doors Down Acoustic EP, “Back Porch Jam”.

Chet was recently awarded “Best Producer” in the country category of the Indie Music Channel’s 2020 Music Awards.
